Is it possible to save Sims 2 game information on flash drive when switching to another laptop?

My teenager has Sims 2 Double Deluxe and Sims 2 teen Style and has used these games exclusively on my laptop (because my graphics card in our home pc wasnt working well with her CD’s.) i have a new laptop and am returning my old one and she has two or three months worth of gaming worksaved on her game. does this game save on the actual disk or on my hard drive. If it saves on my hard drive, is it possible to use the flashdrive to transfer that information? If so how.. please be specific….as I just learned how to use my flash drive to save documents from my word processing program, so this is new to me.

Yes, very simple, just follow these instructions You can save the neighborhood that you made the family in onto a USB key by opening up the location of your Sims 2 files using My Computer, go into neighborhoods, highlight and copy the file with the name of the neighborhood you created your family in (N001, N002 etc) and paste them onto a USB key.
Upload the neighborhood onto your other computer in the exact place that you found it in the previous computer (you may have to rename the file).
Open the sims 2 and enter the neighborhood, your family should be there. If you then want them in a different neighborhood you should put the family into a lot, place the lot in the lots and houses bin, and then when you go onto another neighborhood the family and lot should be there in the lots and houses bin to be placed in the neighborhood.
