Can register my handgun in FL. from Ma?

I am a FL. resident and while I was driving up to MA. I bought a gun from a friend in Jacksonville, FL. I will be in Ma. working for the month of July and August. I am returning/driving home September 1 to my home back in FL. Do I need to register it here in MA. or do I just keep it and drive back home without doing anything?
